The HF35-50 compact, handheld probes are designed to be used with
a soft plastic scleral shell designed by OTI, and offer a scan width
and depth that is the best in ophthalmology.
The standard HF35-50 system comes with choice of a 35 MHz or 50
MHz probe. The lightweight probes are interchangable and the standard
system can be upgraded to include both the 35 MHz and the 50 MHz
probe. A 20 MHz probe is also available for use with this system.
The probe or probes chosen will depend on user preference.
The 35 MHz Probe allows imaging of the cornea and the entire anterior
segment for phakic IOL-related measurements. This probe provides very
bright images with excellent penetration and is currently the most
popular choice of probe with this system.

The 50 MHz Probe is the best choice for pathology such as iris or
ciliary-body tumors, cysts or imaging of the cornea. It offers better
resolution with some loss of depth and brightness.

A 20 MHz high resolution probe is offered as an option on the HF35-50
for posterior segment scanning. This probe provides a more detailed
view of vitreous/retina/choroid structures.

While the option of purchasing two entirely separate probes is most
common, in the case of both the 35 MHz frequency and the 50 MHz frequency
the option to purchase only one probe body and two separate transducers
is available. The small metal transducer can be detached from the
probe body so one probe body is necessary.
The transducers are changed by manually unscrewing one and screwing
in the other. This option is available for the user seeking a more
economical means of obtaining both probe frequencies.
This option is not available with the 20 MHz Probe as the probe
and transducer are are housed within a closed probe body and can
not be separated.

The HF35-50 comes with a set of 3 custom made immersion cups. These
soft plastic scleral shells have been custom designed by OTI to
ensure a custom fit and ease of use.
